Happy St. Patrick’s Day! In case you weren’t aware, I’m just a little bit Irish. And by just a little bit I mean that I’m covered in freckles, can’t go outside without sunscreen, and love a good beer. Make what you will of all my Irish traits.
I’d be lying if I said that I’m not planning on drinking any beer tonight. In fact, there’s a four pack of Guinness waiting for me in the fridge. However, it’s a known fact that eating a smoothie bowl (a St. Patrick’s Day Smoothie Bowl in particular) completely cancels out absolutely any and all beer that one may drink on this celebratory day. Leprechauns don’t lie, people.
If you’ve never had a smoothie bowl, there’s truly no better time than now to try one. It’s basically a thicker, creamier smoothie that tastes like sorbet. Sorbet that happens to be really healthy and thus that you can eat a lot of without regretting it afterwards. The base of every smoothie bowl (in my humble opinion) should be frozen fruit. Frozen mango and bananas make up the base of this St. Patrick’s Day Smoothie Bowl. Combine those ingredients with kale, almond milk, and an orange and you have a refreshing, filling, shrek-colored snack. What could be better?
I wish you all a safe and merry St. Patrick’s Day!
P.S. this smoothie bowl is good any day of the year 😉
